Digitization doesn’t stop at any industry. Why should it? Augmented Reality can upgrade any industry in terms of innovation. We wanted to show that for the funeral industry as well.
So we set out to design and develop an AR demo that could virtually represent coffins, urns or graves in all their diversity. A webAR app was needed that not only accurately represents the main objects of the funeral industry, but also lets you configure them. The keyword? Individuality. The app was to become the virtual equivalent of a boutique and completely replace confusing showrooms, catalogs or physical consultants.

Funeral Industry 4.0
Permanently is a virtual coffin configurator that allows products to be placed virtually in space without a physical counterpart: Whether in the funeral director’s boutique or in your own home. The webAR app displays coffins true to scale and allows color adjustments to be made.
Wood color and handles can be individualized, for example. The app, which is kept quite simple, can also be extensively expanded: Additional color schemes, urns, graves, even engravings could be integrated – everything is possible with Permanently. However, it is all about one thing above all: sensitivity. The visualizer app deals sensitively with the topic of death and tries to make the selection and purchase process of coffins as simple as possible. Permanently is thus not only a sales aid for funeral directors, who will be able to present products virtually in the future, but also a way to keep the emotional stress for customers low in difficult times.
